As a dog
owner you should be aware that there are
many foods that we humans eat that are
simply dangerous to dogs. Here are a
few examples.

Onions contain the toxic
ingredient Thiosulphate and can
cause hemolytic anemia, which
means that the red blood cells
break down leaving your dog
short of oxygen.
|
 |
Grapes and raisins
are dangerous in large
quantities. The symptoms are
gastrointestinal including
vomiting and diarrhea, then
signs of kidney failure. An
onset of severe kidney signs
usually starts 24 hours after
ingestion.
|
 |
Broccoli contains the
toxic ingredient isothiocynate
and is only toxic in large
quantities.
Although it may cause stomach
upset it probably won't cause
too much harm unless the amount
consumed exceeds 10% of your
dog's daily diet.
